Police are looking for someone who they say stole a pizza deliveryman's vehicle while it was left unlocked and idling outside a North Raleigh Papa John's restaurant Feb. 20.

The employee was at the restaurant at 5260 Capital Blvd. about 7:20 p.m. when the theft occurred, police said.

"He parked the vehicle in front of the restaurant while he went inside for a few minutes," said Jim Sughrue, a spokesman for the Raleigh Police Department. "When he came back outside, the vehicle was missing."

Police in Durham found the vehicle, a purple 1995 Infiniti Q45, early the next morning. It had been stripped of 20-inch chrome wheels and a GPS unit, and a handgun and a radar detector were missing.

No arrests have been made, and authorities have not identified a suspect.

Police ask anyone with information about the crime to call the Raleigh Police Department Detectives Division at 919-996-3555 or leave anonymous Crime Stoppers tips at 919-834-4357.
