Police are searching for two men who they say robbed a 37-year-old Raleigh man at gunpoint Feb. 24 as he walked on the 1400 block of New Hope Road.

About 7:50 p.m. the victim was approached by two men who demanded his money, police said. One of the men had a handgun.

"The victim only had his cell phone and [driver's] license, so he gave those to them," said Laura Hourigan, a spokeswoman for the Raleigh Police Department.

Property in hand, one of the two men struck the victim in the face, police said.

They then both fled on foot.

The victim was not seriously injured and turned down an ambulance ride, police said. Police said they were not able to obtain detailed descriptions of the suspect.

Raleigh police urge anyone with information about the crime to call the Detectives Division at 996-3555 or leave anonymous Crime Stoppers tips at 834-4357.
