The Untold Civil War

The Untold Civil War: Exploring the Human Side of War is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at the N.C. Museum of History, 5 E. Edenton St., Raleigh. James I. Robertson Jr. offers new perspectives behind the traditional battle narratives and an overview of the war’s major events, with stories of human drama. A book signing will follow. All Saints’ Day

Historic Oakwood Cemetery will celebrate All Saints’ Day at 3 p.m. Sunday on the cemetery grounds near Hillside South Section. Rev. Rick Clayton of Hayes Barton United Methodist Church in Raleigh will lead the ecumenical service honoring all those who have been important in our lives, but paying special tribute to those we’ve lost in the past year. Candlelight Reflection Ceremony

Chocolate Festival

Friends of the Women’s Center, an NCSU Foundations Fund, will hold its ninth annual Chocolate Festival from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in the Talley Student Center Ballroom on the campus of N.C. State University. Attendees will have an opportunity to taste and choose from a variety of chocolatiers – and learn about breast cancer prevention, early detection and treatment. N.C. Veterans Day Parade

The N.C. Veterans Day Parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday on the south end of Fayetteville Street and proceed north to the state Capitol. A wreath-laying ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on the north side of the Capitol grounds.

Couture for a Cause

Activate Good will hold its fourth annual Couture for a Cause fashion show from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Saturday at Marbles Kids Museum, 201 E. Hargett St., Raleigh. The event will feature more than 20 local designers, a VIP lounge, a red carpet-style photo shoot, hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, a silent auction and a live auction of the runway outfits. Zinda will hold an after-party. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. VIP tickets are $75 and include VIP seating, VIP lounge access and cuisine, and a goodie bag.
