Cat adoption fees reduced

SAFE Haven is cutting adoption fees for cats and kittens Friday through Sunday. Adult cats will be $5 and kittens $20. SAFE Haven pets have been spayed or neutered, microchipped and vaccinated, plus given a medical exam. The Northern Wake Senior Center will hold its annual Christmas crafts sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Crafts are made by the seniors and all proceeds will go to program costs for the center at 235 E. Holding Ave., Wake Forest.

Winter wreath-making

A workshop on making a wreath from natural materials will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Five Points Center for Active Adults, 2000 Noble Road, Raleigh. The center will supply pinecones, gumballs and greenery; bring some ribbon or other crafty materials if you like. Cost is $5 per participant.

‘Max and Ruby’ author at Quail Ridge
