Little Sprouts: The Nose Knows

A program about noses and their sense of smell is set for 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at Historic Yates Mill County Park, 4640 Lake Wheeler Road, Raleigh. Participants will listen to the story “Little Bunny Follows His Nose,” compare their noses to those of park animals’ and make a fun smelly craft. The program, for ages 3-5, is $4 per child. Get a close look at the machines that separate recyclables and talk with employees to learn where the materials go. African-American Cultural Celebration

The 12th Annual African-American Cultural Celebration will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the N.C. Museum of History, 5 E. Edenton St., Raleigh. Energy Assistance Program

A program on the Low Income Energy Assistance Program will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Northern Wake Senior Center, 235 E. Holding Ave., Wake Forest. Low-income residents will have a chance to get information and complete applications for help with their energy bills and weatherization for their homes. Bring a photo ID, recent heating bill, social security numbers for all household members, income verification for anyone living in the home and bank statements.
